Sevierville, Tennessee (population 11,000 plus) was founded way back in 1795 and named for first Tennessee governor John Sevier. Sevierville TN is the oldest of Sevier County's 4 cities and is the eighth oldest town in the state of Tennessee. More than just a great place for your Smoky Mountain vacation, Sevierville TN has a proud heritage—a statue of Sevierville daughter Dolly Parton sits right on the historic courthouse lawn. In addition, Dolly Parton is memorialized in the Splash Country and Dollywood theme parks in sister city Pigeon Forge TN. Dolly comes home each April for the seasonal Dollywood Grand Opening and makes several other appearances during the year. Many of Dolly's close family members still live in the area.

Sevierville TN is conveniently located between Knoxville, TN and Asheville, North Carolina, at exit 407 of I-40. Near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg TN, and Pigeon Forge, Sevierville is a major attraction for the travel and tourism draw within the Smokies area and is accessible by interstate or nearby Asheville or Knoxville McGhee Tyson Airports.
